I was caught up in the story from the very first words. The world building was well thought out. I enjoyed the different character perspectives instead of only focusing on the main characters points of view. I didn't care for Julianna for most of the book but she eventually redeemed herself. I became a fan of Merrick's from the beginning. There was just something about him that made me want to cheer for him. I can't wait to read about the next adventure in book 2. Whenever/if ever this makes it to audio I truly hope the right narrator is chosen. The book is too good to not have the best. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a well-written complex story. The characters have depth and are just as complex. There are relationships, and what in the immortal realms are romances, quite steamy ones. This is an interesting beginning to the series. The narration by Ross Pendleton is quite good. I received an free copy of this book via BookSprout and voluntarily reviewed it.

I loved this story. Brilliant characters and a storyline with so many twists and turns you can't put it down! Looking forward to the next in series. Highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
