Libre y personal exégesis del “Quijote”, en que el autor no pretende descubrir el sentido que Cervantes le diera, sino el que le da él, la obra quizá sea también novela, ya que en sus páginas hidalgo y escudero reviven los episodios de la obra cervantina «en compañía de un narrador que no se priva del autoatribuido derecho a injerirse en lo narrado, trasluciendo en el comentario una voluntad tanto crítica como creadora».
