Saddled with Murder is the first book in the Colt Calling Horse Rescue series by Morgana Best. This was such a fun book. I love Cally, she is a fantastic character and I love that she runs a horse rescue and even at 60 years old she is doing so much! The mysterious detective is such a fun character and I love the Kelpie factor. The "cat" was such a great addition to this story I absolutely loved this scene stealer. There is a murder of one of the volunteers at the rescue and Cally and her friends are investigating before she loses her insurance to run the rescue. A well written mystery with fantastic characters and great twists. I loved this book !

punny, situational-humor, verbal-humor, shifters, murder, murder-investigation, law-enforcement, Australia, middle-aged, animal-rescue, talking-cat, rural, kelpie, sanctuary, cosy mystery***** Yup, I was rooting for the obnoxious woman pretend volunteer to be murdered only a little into the story. And she was. Here we have horse shifters, a cat who is really a wizard, lots of interesting characters, some good sleuthing, and lots (and lots) of laughs. A great read!
