In the 1970s Thruxton featured many famous drivers, including Ronnie Peterson, Graham Hill, Keke Rosberg, Alan Jones, and David Purley. The circuit was also popular with many club racing drivers, with the results almost always being extremely close β whatever the class.

Β A member of the Guild of Motoring Writers, Bruce has followed motor racing at his local circuit of Thruxton for more than 40 years. Bruce was originally an official at the circuit before becoming a photojournalist.
Throughout the 1970s Bruce contributed to the BARCβs Thruxton race programmes, before becoming editor of the clubβs BARC News (now Startline). He continues to contribute to this publication, specialising in Thruxton events. Bruceβs photographs and articles have appeared inΒ motorsport magazines worldwide.
