I've read all of Mr Kings books. He has a dark sense of humor that appeals to me, and knows how to turn a phrase in such a way that something terrible can have you snickering shamefully. Dr Sleep was not a disappointment, rather a really good sequel. This one however, while not a bad crime novel, could be Anycrime written by Any Writer. It's missing that element that makes it recognizably a King book.

If it were written by anyone else it would not have been published. Main problem being the killer is a bit tame and the ending is the biggest crime . I liked the ice cream Van though.. that's classic King.

I really loved this book but I have to say the ending wasn't as fulfilling as I would've liked. After such a build up, I feel like the payoff could've been a little better. I would've liked the protagonist and antagonist to have had more of a moment together.
