I was debating whether I'd give this a 3 or a 4. I liked it overall. I love the idea where so many different creatures are together in harmony. Vampire and werewolf stories are common; I love how I was introduced to new supernatural characters. However, 60% in, there was a shift. It felt so random. After what happened with Bailey at the cafe, the last thing I'd think they'd discuss is how she'll take BDSM. It suddenly became a mesh of twilight and 50 shades. I do love sexy scenes if it propels the story.

This book had so much potential, I honestly wanted to cry when the Author introduced the BDSM into the story line. Not only was it not needed, it was horrible for the female lead. She is an abuse survivor and you honestly want us to believe by the end of the book, even though Eric is very sweet, that she would do a 180 and accept being tied up ,spanked, whipped, whatever, with no more mental anguish over the event. Sorry too far fetched.

This supernatural fostering of orphan Bailey into a world which opens her mind and awakens her sexuality is over too soon when she is is murdered by her stalker ex... How was she to know that her destiny had intervened to keep around. Great story with fascinating characters!
