Gaiman's work uncovers some very deep and often explicit intentions that are layered in his protagonist's subconscious. I'll admit that my childhood was ruined by the story of Susan from Narnia, but all the same I couldn't let go of these stories. It was sort of horrific in a way that I had to keep holding it to the finish, even though I knew that the more I read it, the more my perspective on life was changing.
