When I request this book, I was oblivious to the fact that this was in fact, a series. Not a cliffhanger series, and this can be read as a stand alone, but this was the 5th and final book in a series, where characters from the prior books were prominent characters in this one, as were things that occurred in those books. Most times, I can read a book in a series like this and not feel the urge to go back and start from the beginning and that was the case with this one. Hayden was originally from Lake Tahoe, but moved away after an incident during her high school years. She has returned to prove a point to those that ran her out. She gets a job at the Blue Casino as an HR supervisor and is attempting to find out just how crooked the owner(s) of this establishment are. During her time working there, she works with Adam Cade...a boy she knew in high school who is a man who invades her thoughts now. Adam, a man raised with a silver spoon/trust fund is trying to find a way for himself in the wold, w/o having to depend on his father's money. Overall, I enjoyed this book but I do not think I will go back and read the prior 4 in this series. This story blew me away! Look at this girl, rolling into town with all that history! Hayden is more than just the token female given the job for the optics. She takes her job seriously, and has a very good reason not to trust her co-worker, Adam Cade, no matter how attractive and smooth he is. This is an amazing hate-to-love romance, with so much backstory, so much current intrigue, so much sizzling chemistry - it was a non-stop read for me and I absolutely loved every bit of it! Can't say too much about the plot without giving away spoilers, but trust me, if you've read the first book in this series, you definitely want to read this one. The author brilliantly ties together the characters in a way that I never saw coming. This book has all the resolution and HEAs a reader could ever ask for. A stunning conclusion to this terrific series.

Very enjoyable book. This is the fifth and final book in the series but it did introduce several characters we will see in the spin off series. This one can easily be read standalone. The entire series, and this book is no exception, has great writing and characters as well as the exciting behind the scenes casino action that make it a fantastic read In New Blue Hayden Tate is working hard in the male dominated Blue Casino and the one person she despises most just got a fantastic promotion. Of course she's not at all surprised since she's sure his daddy had something to do with it. She just has to hope he won't get in her way while she tries to dig up dirt on the casino's higher ups. Proof of corruption is the only way to take these guys down. Adam Cade doesn't understand why Hayden seems to hate him so much but pushing her buttons is about the most fun he's had in a long time. After finally breaking away from his father, he feels like he is finally making his own way. Letting Hayden derail his efforts just isn't an option. Things just don't seem to be the way they should be at the casino though and that has him proceeding cautiously. Add to that the fact that his attraction to Hayden will not die down and he is utterly frustrated! You definitely will enjoy Hayden and Adam's story. I highly recommend it.
