But an unexpected pregnancy, an anonymous letter, and threatening relatives complicate the picture. A novel in which an unconventional heroine, far from home, is forced to reckon with the judgment of others.

Jessica Levine is the author of The Geometry of Love, a Booklist Top 10 Women’s Fiction Title (2015), and Delicate Pursuit: Discretion in Henry James and Edith Wharton, as well as several translations from French and Italian. Her writing has appeared in many publications, including The Huffington Post and The Southern Review. She lives in Northern California.
