 This text, now in the Third Edition, aims to provide students with a clear, well-structured and comprehensive treatment of the theory and applications of operations research. The methodology used is to first introduce the students to the fundamental concepts through numerical illustrations and then explain the underlying theory, wherever required. The book introduces the readers to various models of Operations Research (OR), such as transportation model, assignment model, inventory models, queueing theory and integer programming models.  G. SRINIVASAN, Ph.D. (IIT Madras), is Professor, Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Madras. A member of the Society of Operations Management (India), Dr. Srinivasan has contributed several research papers to international journals and conferences. Besides the present book, he has also authored a book on Quantitative Models in Operations and Supply Chain Management, published by PHI Learning. His areas of research interest include Operations Research, Production and Operations Management, and Supply Chain Management.
