About this eBook

INSTANT #1 BESTSELLER: A gripping first-hand account of the January 6th, 2021, insurrection from inside the halls of Congress, from origins to aftermath, as Donald Trump and his enablers betrayed the American people and the Constitution—by the House Republican leader who dared to stand up to it.

In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.   Liz Cheney, one of the few Republican officials to take a stand against these efforts, witnessed the attack first-hand, and then helped lead the Congressional Select Committee investigation into how it happened. In Oath and Honor, she tells the story of this perilous moment in our history, those who helped Trump spread the stolen election lie, those whose actions preserved our constitutional framework, and the risks we still face.

Liz Cheney and I are at opposite ends of the political spectrum; she is extremely conservative in her views (in what was formerly the Republican party- and has now transformed into something else entirely). However, we are alike in that we value truth, honesty, rule-of-law, integrity, honoring one's oath of office, democracy, patriotism, freedom, liberty, and what America stands for- We the People. I truly appreciate Liz for her bravery in standing up for the truth, writing what happened, and not bowing down to political donors (to save her seat) or recoiling from the truth out of fear of retaliation as so many others have. History will be harsh on the the former president and those who followed him, just as history has looked with contempt on Hitler and other fascists and authoritarians. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger were the ONLY two Republicans who faced the truth after an attempted coup d'état by the former president. THANK GOD it wasn't successful!

This woman is a liar first and foremost. She has been caught directly lying to the US people in more than 200 proven instances during just the last 2 years and she was soundly defeated in her last political endeavor because of it. Nothing in this book changes any of these facts and she needs come forward and apologize not only to the American people but President Trump and all of his supporters who she shamelessly lied about and dragged through the mud. She is the lowest of the low and deserves everything that has happened to her, including the embarrassment and shame that she is now buried in.

I've never been a fan of Liz Channey or her father, but this book is an excellent review of what happened in the white house leading up to and after the 2020 presidential election. Much of what she recounts is verifiable by viewing the publicly broadcast tv events of the Nov 2020 thru Jan 2021, including the assault on the capital on Jan 6 2021. But her account of the behind the scenes activities is stunning and should make anyone who is considering a 2024 vote for tRump decide not to.

About the author

Liz Cheney served as a member of Congress from 2017 to 2023, rising to chair the House Republican Conference until her stand against the January 6th insurrection caused her party to strip away that role, and led to her defeat in the 2022 primary election. An attorney and national security specialist, Cheney previously worked in Eastern Europe, Russia, Ukraine and the Middle East while serving in the State Department during the George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush administrations.
