Then it goes on to give detailed description on topics such as pollution and control, environmental management, and sustainable development. Finally, it focuses on environmental chemistry, environmental microbiology, and monitoring and analysis of pollutants.

P. Venugopala Rao, Ph.D. (IIT Kharagpur), is Director, Sridevi Women’s Engineering College, Hyderabad. Earlier, he was Professor, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. He is also associated with various engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Professor Venugopala has a teaching experience of more than 40 years, most of which was in teaching environmental science and engineering courses. He has to his credit many research papers published in various reputed journals and has authored several books including Textbook of Environmental Engineering, published by Prentice-Hall of India.
