As the president of president of Vector Delta Design Group, Inc., Peter Gevorkian summarizes his experience and shares his expertise in “Large-Scale Solar Power System Design (GreenSource): An Engineering Guide for Grid-Connected Solar Power Generation.” There are many books on solar energy, but there are only a few books that really provide readers with useful and specific content. This book is one of the good books. It has 12 chapters and is filled with valuable information, and covers solar power system technologies, physics, costing, and design (including photovoltaic and thin-film solar cells), large-scale solar power system construction, concentrator photovoltaic systems, solar power system project management, smart-grid systems, solar thermal power, as well as solar power financing and feed-in tariff programs. The appendixes have some very useful information such as unit conversion and design reference tables, energy systems, Los Angeles city fire department requirements, photo gallery, state-wide solar initiative program, and list of California Energy Commission Certified Solar Power Equipment. This book has many photos and line diagrams to illustrate the concepts. It has 704 pages, and is an important addition to your sustainable design library.
