Acerca del autor

Rachel Sparks Linfield has worked in education for over twenty years, teaching throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stages 1 and 2, and in higher education at both the University of Cambridge and Leeds Metropolitan University. She has written a wide range of books, articles and packs for early years and primary teachers, and for six years was on the editorial board of the Association for Science Education's journal 'Primary Science Review'. Rachel's interest in science began at primary school when a teacher showed her that if she stood one metre away from a mirror, her image was one metre behind. This small demonstration fascinated Rachel and led to many hours of investigating and asking further questions. This desire to try to discover why things happen and how things work continues today in her roles as a lecturer, teacher, mother and author. Rachel firmly believes that with the right planning and encouragement everyone has the ability to investigate and to enjoy being a scientist.
