Can you imagine being a witch who couldn't make potions? Michaela has had to deal with the ridicule and being ostracized by her own coven her whole life for something that is not her fault - it's just part of who she is. Everyone, even her flatmates, taunt her for it if only in small ways (she's not allowed to make tea or anything really that requires more than 2 ingredients). She understands, really she does, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt or make her upset at times. Owen is the resident potion master at Obscure Academy. Though he's only a 1st year, he's VERY good with potions. He knows what he wants to do in life and feels being well versed with Potion Making will help in his endeavors. He is very soft-spoken and a bit geeky. He certainly goes out of his way not to cause offense to anyone, especially Michaela. This is a sweet and rom-com book and I very much enjoyed reading it.

Michaela has messed up with her potion making once too often and so must get Owen , the best potion maker of the Obscure Academy to help her out… soon the warlock and the witch are not only producing good magic but sweet music together as the two grow romantically . Well written , entertaining magic from the prolific pen of Laura Greenwood. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed this book and getting to know Michaela better after reading about her in previous books in the series. Michaela & Owen's story was really cute and a lot of fun & this book also gives us a peak into Thalia & Evander's story (Blind Dates for Lonely Gorgons) as well as a bit more info about Essie so I am looking forward to reading more about her and Byron in the next book.
