Psychopathology: An Empathic Representational Approach retraces the foundations of classical phenomenological psychopathology and integrates them with modern ideas drawn from anthropology, cognitive neuroscience, computational science, and evolutionary biology to synthesize a comprehensive framework and provide fresh insights.

Eric Yu Hai Chen, MD (Edin), FRCPsych (UK), MB ChB (Edin), MA (Oxon), is professor of psychiatry, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, and senior consultant, Institute of Mental Health, Singapore. He is also professor emeritus, former chair professor and head of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Hong Kong.
