Madhumathi Ramakrishnan
I liked this novel as the clues of the stone tablets are in ancient Tamil Brahmi script. A mix of marine archeology adds flavour to the plot. So much research has gone in to ancient Hindu culture, its roots. The legendary feats of Sage Agasthya are mentioned as a part of converstion within a gripping story without boring the readers. The tale of three cities, make a lovely read. A nice mixture of fiction, reality and myth.

History, mythology, Indus valley civilization, Atlantis, Lemuria (kumarikandam), Tamil sangam, Mayan culture, what more, it is also a travelogue and a romantic thriller. The book is categorized as a “fiction”. The story forms the base into which various interesting facts are cleverly infused. The book is a page turner. The rapid pace sets in from the first page and it is impossible to put it down until the last page is reached. The author has done extensive research in various subjects which appears to be his passion and a life time effort. I appreciate the author’s eagerness to share all his knowledge with the readers, but trying to do it in “one go” may be bit tough for average audience. He could have saved some for his next book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and had kindled interest in me to do some small research of my own. One may wonder whether author is an historian, archaeologist or literarian. Though Ramesh babu will fit into any of these, he is a medical doctor a Paediatric Surgeon of repute.

Fast paced and thrilling. Although so much information is infused in to the actual story, it is not boring one minute. The mystery adventure in to South India has been narrated in an interesting fashion. The mythology story of Shiva is equally entertaining. It should have been Shiva SECRETS rather than Agasthya Secrets. I love trekking and after reading the book, I feel I should trek up the Agasthya hills myself to explore its surreal beauty. On the whole the book is amazing.
