I am not sure how I feel about this book. I felt badly for Kat because it was clear she was acting from a place of pain. I felt badly for Adrian because although he had somewhat of a plan he set in motion, I never got the sense that he was solidly behind his plan. As he got to know Kat, he became even more unsure. I understood why Adrian felt that way, but I guess I waa used to the brothers being more sure of the actions they took. Although Adrian played the kinky games with Kat, I still never got that feeling of him having an "Alpha" personality. I waa glad that Adrian and Kat got their HEA. Normally the books in this series pull me in at the beginning and I can read them in one sitting. It was a decent read and my suggestion would be that you read it and judge for yourself. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This was a fun read and less dark than others but with a nice balance. I loved Kat and Adrian and the chemistry and banter and heat between them. Renee Rose really hit it with this one.

Adrian is looking to take revenge upon the man who damaged his sister and Kat is his weapon of choice He has no intentions of actually harming the girl - just giving the illusion to her father However, from the moment she interrupts his "stalking" of her - to the sudden desire he feels to protect her his whole plan ends up fubar*d This is a captive romance however not truly dark IMO The chemistry between these two is almost instant and the way Adrian respects Kat's boundaries - even when Kat doesn't - added some humorous moments to the story Kat has daddy issues - honestly can't blame her - her dad is a bit of a monster Adrian almost comes across as all brawn and no brain - not in a bad way just how he responds to situations - his first reactions The insta-attraction between these two made sense and the back and forth between them was beyond entertaining It may have triggers for some
