Time for some luxury! This poncho design was inspired by a stroll down Rodeo Drive on a recent trip I had to California. It is knit in a cashmere-blend yarn, for the ultimate in softness and stitch definition. The techniques used are very simple – this pattern is appropriate for anyone with at least advanced beginner skills, meaning you’re comfortable with both knitting and purling. All of the other techniques are demonstrated in the four-part video tutorial.

At the request of petite knitters and knitters living in very chilly climates, I’ve updated the Rodeo Drive Poncho pattern to include instructions for a poncho with a shallower neckline. The pattern is identical, otherwise.

 My name is Staci. I've been an avid knitter for over 35 years. It's my passion.

I am a knitwear designer and knitting teacher. I combine these skills to create patterns with video tutorials that ease knitters into advanced techniques, such as socks, sweaters, cables, and colorwork knitting. Additionally, I teach knitting classes at various locations in Austin, Texas.

Besides knitting, I enjoy spending time with my three Basenjis - Ike, Abe, and Tippy. I also like to put the needles down for a while to watch a baseball game, or to get out for a nice run.
