Firefighters, family, and communityÉ

Danny Ramirez

As a Probationary Firefighter, IÕm doing everything I can to impress the members of my company. Knowing IÕm the first in my family to be educated makes me proud, and gives me hope for the future.

I hold myself to a higher standard than anyone else, especially with a southern small-town breathing down my neck. One night, on a dark mountain road, I help the most beautiful woman IÕve ever seen in my life change a flat tire.

What I donÕt know, is sheÕs the youngest daughter of my Chief. His number one rule? DonÕt date his daughterÕs.

I try to stay away from her, try like hell, but when a forest fire threatens our town, and the guys in my company. I know I canÕt let her walk away from me. Not without a fight.

Danny & Hayden's love story is perfect for readers who love small town romance, hotshot police officers, alpha heroes, smart sassy heroines, friends to lovers, happily ever after, slow burn, emotional romance with plenty of swoon.

It sucks you right in from the start. New characters who make you fall in love with them and their stories. Great introductions of most of the characters, which I truly hope each get their story told in this brand new series. Danny and Hayden are characters you can relate to. Coming from hispanic decent, it is great to be represented. Laramie captured some of plights we encounter and she told them beautifully and with respect. Hayden is a beautiful young soul, coming into her own and realizing her potential. Danny is young man with the weight of the world on his shoulders. But their budding love is the binder that keeps them centered. Cannot wait to continue reading this series!

Ooh, a new series of characters to fall in love with. Hayden and Danny light up the pages. The men of Bradford Station are going to be a force and of course all of the strong sassy women that love them. Hayden the Chief's youngest daughter is a spitfire and goes after what she wants. Danny feels he isn't enough because he comes from the other side of the tracks but love doesn't discriminate and Danny and Hayden fell in love on first meeting. Their story ended with a smile on my face and a need for more!

Rookie is exactly what I needed after a stressful week, and it's everything I love in an easy, engaging romance. To sum it up in a sentence, this first in a new series by Laramie Briscoe is sweet, sexy, small town, dating the boss's daughter, firefighter romance. Seriously, does it get any better than that for a low-angst love story? And that just covers the romance tropes. Naturally, the town and its inhabitants are interesting, and there are so many to fall in love with. The camaraderie among the firefighters as well as the relationship Danny has with his family is both touching and fun, and my favorite thing about this one is how Danny and Hayden actually communicate. Yes, they talk about how they feel and what they want! I loved it. Not that there's anything wrong with angsty romance - not at all. It just happens that I really needed the easy relationship between these two. They're both such sweet characters that low angst was perfect for them. We do get a bit of danger - these are firefighters after all - but most of the book revolves around the chemistry between Danny and Hayden, and it is hot! Rookie is a great introduction to Bradford Station, and I can't wait to see what's next.
