Commencing with the introduction, the book builds up the basic concepts of quality and software testing. It, then, elaborately discusses the various facets of verification and validation, methodologies of both static testing and dynamic testing of the software, covering the concepts of structured group examinations, control flow and data flow, unit testing, integration testing, system testing and acceptance testing. The text also focuses on the importance of the cost-benefit analysis of testing processes, test automation, object-oriented applications, client-server and web-based applications. The concepts of testing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software as well as object-oriented testing have been described in detail. Finally, the book brings out the underlying concepts of usability and accessibility testing. Career in software testing is also covered in the book.

SANDEEP DESAI is Executive Vice President (Information Technology), AFCONS Infrastructure Limited, Mumbai. He obtained his Master’s in Computer Science from Mumbai University in 1982. Besides having a successful three-decade career in several flagship companies, he is also well known to academic world. Currently, he is a Senior Visiting Faculty at SNDT College, Mumbai. He specializes in the areas of software testing, project management and enterprise resource planning (ERP).
ABHISHEK SRIVASTAVA, with nearly two decades of experience in software engineering, is a partner at TECHCANVASS, a company developing new age software applications for healthcare industry. He is an IT professional with diverse experience in banking, insurance, power and government sectors. He obtained his BE from NIT, Patna and PGCPM from IIM Kozhikode. Earlier he served with premier organizations such as 3i Infotech Ltd. (erstwhile ICICI Infotech Ltd.) and MASTEK. His forte is to develop business solutions and has done so for the customers like ICICI Bank, NTPC, Department of Sales Tax and Commercial Bank of Qatar.
