This was definitely an intriguing story. Stephens introduced me to a world that I know nothing about and did it in vivid Technicolor. I know that this novel was a new world for readers to get into, but as a standalone I did find it quite slow to get into. It was almost as if Stephens separated world building and character development from the forward motion of the plot for a while. But when the story moved, I couldn’t put it down. It was fantastic. The characters that Stephens developed were likeable if not loveable. I enjoyed getting to know them, but at the same time could easily put them down and walk away for a while. Don’t get me wrong, they are the perfect characters for this tale and I enjoyed getting to know them, but for me they were missing that thing that makes them unforgettable. At the same time, the supporting cast really brought the life that these two are caught up in to the forefront of the tale. The extreme attitudes throughout brought the world to life but didn’t necessarily endear me to the characters. This novel was definitely an enjoyable read that has allowed me to experience a new world. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what Stephens comes up with next. Kenzie is a strong female character. She’s grown up and works in the male dominated field of motorcycle racing. Her father was a legend so she’s a legacy. Much of this story is her personal tale of trying to make it in the sport. She lives and breathes it. Hayden and Kenzie’s story is almost a Romeo and Juliet situation. Add to that some illegal street racing and someone sabotaging drivers. This of course brings out the fighting of attraction, secrets, lies and the severing of relationships. All there are suspense and mystery elements. Things did not play out how I expected. If you’re looking for a book with an unpredictable ending, you should definitely check it out.

This was something different by this author, an interesting story about motorbike racing! I found it a little hard to get into at first but as I kept on reading I was hooked! Kenzie rides bikes for her family's company and needs to try and keep it afloat and win some races! Enter Hsyden. I wasn't really sure what to make of him at first, for all the secrets he was hiding made me think he was not so good! Then you see how he treats Kenzie and that kind of blows it out of the water for me! Rivalry,illegal things and a relationship that maybe shouldn't be happening are all things in Kenzies life that causes her to make some decisions, At a few times my heart was in my throat wondering what on earth will happen!! I felt sad, I shed some tears, but overall I enjoyed it! I enjoyed the tension, the friendships and the overall outcome! Wonder what this author will have in store for us next!!
