About this ebook

Nobody can resist his call…. not even her…

The Piper's music is alive, drawing souls from the world of the living to the lands of the dead. Those who hear him have no choice but to follow - when the Piper calls you, you will do as you are told.

Everything changes…even the unchangeable…

Autumn is on the run from the Cult of the Hundred after witnessing something she should never have seen. She's fighting for survival; she doesn't have time for distractions. That is, until she meets a man nobody but her can see. He's intriguing, gorgeous and mysterious - and he lies to her whenever he opens his pretty mouth. She needs to leave, needs to run from the Cult, but his music touches something deep within her.

A new song has begun…

He's played his tune for a hundred years, but no living human has ever seen him. Until Autumn. His music is only supposed to control those destined to leave this world, but to make Autumn stay with him, he might have to change the rules. Forever. Because he'll never be able to let her go.

Set in the same fantasy world as the bestselling Catnip Assassins series, this romantic Pied Piper retelling will sing to fans of Laura Thalassa and C.N.Crawford. If you enjoy haunted, flawed anti-heroes, strong heroines and love stories that will make you swoon, read this gripping romance today!

Part of the Once Upon A Fairy Tale Night Series, a collection of multi-author fairy tale romance retellings.

A engaging read that is somewhat based on the Piped Piper story. This short paranormal/fairytale read is about Autumn who is running away from a cult that is hunting her and Piper (Reaper-like) who has been roaming the Earth for 100 yrs is compel to follow the "Song" to whom it leads only to finally be seen and heard by Autumn who he found on a stormy day. What happens between them in this romantic read that had interesting characters and a story was a page turner that I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this but I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I rather different telling of the Pied Piper but no less enchanting. It reminded me bit of the tale of Ole Lukøje. You really feel for Tom as you can tell that he is anguished about the song and what happens. He has been alone a long time and the bottom drops out of his world a bit when someone finally sees him! Autumn feels safe around him but her brain tells her that she shouldn't so as a result she feels very conflicted. It is a bittersweet tale and I loved it.

A better version!! I loved this version of the Pied Piper, with him having no choice in what he did. Turning the whole story around really gave it a different spin and made it better than the original and certainly more exciting. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Skye MacKinnon is a USA Today & International Bestselling Author whose books are filled with strong heroines who don't have to choose. She embraces her Scottishness with fantastical Scottish settings and a dash of mythology, no matter if she's writing about Celtic gods, cat shifters, or the streets of Edinburgh. When she's not typing away at her favourite cafe, Skye loves dried mango, as much exotic tea as she can squeeze into her cupboards, and being covered in pet hair by her demon cat.
