About this eBook

A cold hearted alien... scorching hot chemistry... and a fated mate bond too strong to be denied!

There's nothing left in Raze. No love, no hate, nothing except the duty that he owes his people. But when he meets a fascinating and tough human woman on a barren planet something deep inside comes back to life and for the first time in years he yearns for more.

When a mission for the Sol Intelligence Agency gets out of hand, Sierra will need to use every skill she has and work with a mysterious alien warrior who awakens an unquenchable desire within her. He’s cold and forbidding, but when he looks at her there’s a fire in his eyes that opens up a whole world of possibilities.

The chemistry between Raze and Sierra is too hot to ignore, even if it should be impossible for a mate bond to form between them. But if Raze's emotions fully return before he claims his denya, he might end up dead for good. There is no fighting destiny, especially for a doomed Detyen, and Raze already cheated fate once. To be with Sierra he'll have to do it again, or neither of them will make it out alive.

The Detyen Warriors series brings you feisty women, alpha aliens, fated mates, and relationships hot enough to steam up your screen. This book is great for readers of paranormal romance and sci fi romance who love to read in their free time!

Soulless is book one in the Detyen Warriors series. This series is something of a spinoff of Kate Rudolph's flagship series, Mated to The Alien, that features more Detyen's (though this group is their military guys, whereas the Mated series is more civilian based) and runs mostly parallel time-wise. There isn't a reading order published exactly, but I'd suggest reading Ruwen before you start this series. Though in truth, you can read them separately and not be lost. Some of the books in the series should be read together, however, and this and the following book, Ruthless, are one such set. Our male lead in this story is Raze; a Detyen warrior who chose to undergo a procedure that saved his life but left him without emotions. Detyen's die at the age of 30 if they have not bonded with their mate before then, so the race has come up with a short term 'fix' that involves what they consider removing their souls. They don't generally live too long afterwards, but they can continue to help their brethren fight, even if they don't feel anything anymore. This is the story of how one such soulless warrior did the unheard of and found and bonded his mate (no spoilers, you can't really think they wouldn't would you?). It is far from that simple, however, and the path he and Sierra take to find one another, bond, and then stay alive and be allowed to keep their bond is fraught with battles, bloodshed, space pirate slavery rings, dedicated friends, and more bumps than dirt road. Sierra is a great character: she's a warrior herself, though by her own terms, a loving daughter, a respected leader, and a dedicated humanitarian. She may be human, and almost completely unaware of the predicament that Raze is in when she first meets him, but she follows her heart and I absolutely loved that for a change. The drama between them was external rather than internal, for the most part, which was a refreshing change of pace. The two made a great couple and a great team, along with their comrades and kicked off a new series that seeks to answer the question of who tried to wipe out the entire Detyen race, and might be gunning for earth? There was action aplenty, a touch of steam, a heavy dose of romance, some solid friendship highlighting moments, some very skittish rescued humans, and of course, lots of feels. Definitely a series to give a go! I am looking forward to the rest of this series.

Had some more pages at least this time. I wish they had put all these stories together as they should be. I know they want to make money but I think they are biting off their nose to spite their face

I enjoyed this science fiction read. It is especially interesting to read of the reanimation of Raze as he starts to regain his soul. The story is well written and the characters are developed nicely throughout the story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
