What's not to love? .......A damaged CIA agent with the heart of a cowboy who is afraid to love. Add the sweet, angel who lives in the apartment opposite who somehow calms his storms, but is afraid to open up to anyone after being very badly betrayed herself...... I don't know that's for sure! I loved this Western contemporary/action suspense, friends to lovers romance! I've read and loved a lot of Stephanie Rowe's books, both contemporary and pnr, but for some reason this is the first of her cowboy books I've read and a what a start it was! With suspense, humour, angst and emotion, I could feel the inner turmoil from both Logan and Skylar. I was rooting for them both to overcome their fears, act on their sizzling chemistry for real and let the healing begin together. They were perfect for each other. I loved the Stockton family dynamics, where family was all about loyalty and love, not necessarily blood. They were an incredible group of people despite the awful childhood they had clearly all suffered. Obviously this is book eight in the series, so I've missed a lot, but this didn't matter it absolutely worked as a standalone. What it has done is made me want to go back to the beginning and find out more about these adorable, intriguing characters. 4.5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. Logan and Skylar were made for each other. They are complex characters, each impacted by their pasts, but have the resilience to be more. Logan is loyal, protective and loving. I looked forward to his story and it did not disappoint. I

Wow! Talk about major book hangover :) This was such an awesome book! Stephanie Rowe has an amazing way with words. I made the mistake of starting this on a work night, I almost finished it in a night it was that good! It was so adorable seeing the relationship between Skylar and Logan bloom. I loved the humor in this one. Frigging Eugene 😂 The emotions were real though, you saw the struggle and not just the sweet romance. That’s what really did it for me and made me fall in love with the Stockton crewe even more. You read this and you feel like you are there in their world feeling their emotions that’s how good this book is! I highly recommend reading this one! I received an ARC and voluntarily leave this review.
