About this ebook

Creating "true narrative magic" (The Washington Post) at every revelatory turn, Stephen King surpasses all expectation in the stunning final volume of his seven-part epic masterwork. Entwining stories and worlds from a vast and complex canvas, here is the conclusion readers have long awaited—breathtakingly imaginative, boldly visionary, and wholly entertaining.

Roland Deschain and his ka-tet have journeyed together and apart, scattered far and wide across multilayered worlds of wheres and whens. The destinies of Roland, Susannah, Jake, Father Callahan, Oy, and Eddie are bound in the Dark Tower itself, which now pulls them ever closer to their own endings and beginnings...and into a maelstrom of emotion, violence, and discovery.

'The Dark Tower I' (of a seven book series) was 1st published in June 1986. The last book, 'The Dark Tower VII', was published in September 2004. Don't be misled into thinking this is a continued series published by Stephen King, for this is the last of 'The Dark Tower" series. If you want to know when his or any other book being sold on the Play Store was published, I advise you to "Google" the title and author for up-to-date facts because the Play Store is giving misleading information when it states the publication date on a book or series, which is actually it's last publication date, not its first. Being I'm 67 y.o., I recognize a multitude of the titles being sold as being from when I was in my teens to 40's. This is relevant when it comes to the self-help books because the information contained within those pages are pertinent to the problems of those eras that too often no longer exist and are out of date. So check the publication dates for the more recent books, especially those that reference mental/health care advice. Also, history, since new information comes out quite often that challenges and/or changes historical dates and facts. For me, personally, I like all my books to be recent. But that's just me.

I don't think I've ever loved a story more. I've certainly never been so hurt, and yet, simultaneously satisfied. I've been reading Roland's story for about ten years now, and I write this review on the night I have just finished it. I beg of you, do not start this story in the middle. You must read from start to finish. The final piece of this most beautiful and worthy Legend is nearly beyond description. King delivers a fantastic closing to the epic of Roland's quest, and I am astounded at how much a part of me the Gunslinger's tale has been. For those who grew up during the unfolding of the series, I salute you. I know not how you could withstand the waiting. To King; Hile, Wordslinger. I see you very well. You have, through your work, gifted me something so incredible, I can never repay you. Long days, and pleasant nights.

Much like the series of dark tower books I'll start with the good and end with the bad. Let me start by saying I doubt anyone could've spun it this way except Stephen King. Early on in the series I found myself almost entranced, and the words really did paint a picture in my mind which I would consider brilliant. I can't fault him for the ending, but his choice to include himself, I felt was the work of his ego as a "great writer", as opposed to his early work, with something to prove. It draws you away.
