Steve Smith is the editor of The Retriever Journal and managing editor of The Pointing Dog Journal, as well as the founder of Shooting Sportsman magazine. He has written more than a dozen books on the outdoors and edited and produced scores of others. He lives in Traverse City, Michigan, with his long-suffering wife, Sue, and two Labrador retrievers.
