Three people with their own lives and problems, seemingly unconnected, but woven together in a way none could possibly anticipate. Ursula still blames herself for the death of the love of her life. Gareth worries about his mother's advancing dementia and the strange postcards she has received from his long dead father, and Alice is being stalked after being attacked recently in a pub. Their individual journeys will crash together, affecting them and those around them. I instantly warmed to the main characters, and many of the supporting characters too. The skillful way these destinies were written to collide left me breathless in places as I tried to foresee how things would develop. And of course, CL Taylor provided a few hidden corners and twists. Several times while reading, I found myself putting it down and just thinking about what I had read, such is the impact of this amazing book. Overall I can't recommend Strangers enough, hence the five stars.

Once again, C.L. Taylor had me turning the pages at lightning speed and sitting on the edge of my seat during this gripping and sensational read. Plenty of cliffhangers and red herrings. Fascinating, credulous characters cleverly interwoven throughout, each one dissimilar, but culminating with them all being cleverly thrown together. I found myself visualising the characters: loving Ursula and loathing Edward, sympathising with both Gareth and Alice. I found it intriguing that several different sensitive and emotional health topics were well-addressed such as loneliness, mental health and dementia. Very appropriate in this day and age. The plot, based predominantly in the unusual setting of a shopping centre, was full of dark twists and turns and had me once again guessing incorrectly whodunnit! As always with C.L. Taylor’s books, the ending took me by surprise! Definitely my favourite author!
