Today’s biggest structural engineering challenge is to design better structures, and a key issue is the need to take an integrated approach which balances control of costs with the requirement for handling earthquakes and other dynamic forces. He is a Distinguished Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and is the author of several books including Matrix Analysis of Structural Dynamics: Applications and Earthquake Engineering.

Kevin Z. Truman is Dean of the School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, USA.
