This volume highlights some of the main issues and questions surrounding the field of second language (L2) writing, and includes 14 chapters authored by contributors from a wide variety of geographical regions including, but not limited to, North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. The authors are all experienced L2 writing researchers, and their contributions will enhance the reader’s understanding of issues related to L2 writing. Considering the breadth and the depth of the issues raised and discussed, the book will appeal to a wide readership, including postgraduate students of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Applied Linguistics (AL), and both early-career and experienced TESOL/AL researchers.

Acerca del autor

A. Mehdi Riazi is a Professor of Applied Linguistics at Macquarie University, Australia. He is the author and co-author of eight books, nine book chapters, and 60 refereed journal articles. His latest books are Mixed Methods Research in Language Teaching and Learning (2017), and The Routledge Encyclopedia of Research Methods in Applied Linguistics (2016).

Ling Shi is a Professor in the Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Her research has been published in journals such as Written Communication, Language Awareness, TESOL Quarterly, Language Testing, English for Specific Purposes, and Journal of English for Academic Purposes, and Journal of Second Language Writing.

Khaled Barkaoui is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education of York University, Canada. His current research and teaching focus on second-language (L2) assessment, L2 writing, longitudinal and mixed-methods research, L2 program evaluation, and English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
