This is book two in the Agents Under Fire series. However, it is also a stand alone book. You will get to know most of the characters in the first book, Web of Deceit, plus it is a great read too, so I would suggest you read it first, but it is not necessary. Susan Sleeman always does a great job at keeping your interest, keeping the mystery and suspense plus all the romance thrown into one great novel. Her characters are well defined and their dialogue is great. I love all the different personality types and how they all add dimension to the story. FBI agent Nina Brandt is a very dedicated, planned out agent. She has some fears of her own and loves her job. Even though it is with the FBI being an agent dealing with computer issues she is usually in a safe environment. When she is faced with the one man she never expected to see again, Navy SEAL Quinn Stone, will she be able to put her hurt behind her and rely on him again? Will they be able to solve this mystery before it is to late for Nina and others she loves. Navy SEAL Quinn Stone is an adrenaline junkie. When he is called home to help his little brother, he knows there is only one person he can turn too, yet is it asking to much? Quinn must learn what he truly desires and face some fears he never thought possible. I was given a copy of this novel from the author for my honest opinion.

This is the second book in the Agents Under Fire series. It serves well as a stand-alone. If you like strong female protagonists, you will certainly like this book. Nina Brandt is an FBI Agent, as well as her two closest female friends. Nina is still trying to get over her last broken relationship with Navy SEAL Quinn Stone. Quinn's teenage brother, Ty , is a hacker .... a very good one. He has hacked into the federal government's No Fly List and added a friend's name .. who happens to be an American Muslim. Immediately, chatter begins about a possible terrorist attack. Quinn drags his brother to Nina for help in keeping his brother out of jail. Both calling a truce, they join to help Ty and keep the country safe at the same time. Nina finds herself skating on very thin ice when it comes to her boss and her job. What follows is a desperate search for Ty's computer, which also has directions on how to hack into the government's data base. An ex-con that Nina helped put away years ago is out of prison and he has Ty's computer. He puts in place a plan to make Nina pay for his perceived persecution and make a lot of money selling the info to a terrorist group. There is plenty of action, practically non-stop. The characters are well drawn. Quinn is your typical macho SEAL ... he serves to save .. and he's willing to go to any lengths to protect Nina and his brother. He's not about to lose her again. Nina is strong, self-sufficient, and does her job without crossing the boundaries ... until now. The sub-story I really enjoyed were the issues that had kept Quinn and Nina part. She's still dealing with the death of her younger brother when she was a child. Quinn is dealing with trying to figure out where he fits in this world if he is no longer a SEAL. He also has commitment phobia ... afraid that he is more like his emotionally distant father than he would like to be. This book has a sub-classification of Romantic Suspense. There are no explicit intimate situations. A kiss here and there. Clean reading. It's a must read for those who like suspense.
