Ratings and reviews

The style in this one was different from the previous books I've read in this series. I don't know if the editors influenced the author or what but I usually enjoy the fact that her books don't have "f-bombs" and magic & mysticism in them. This one did so I didn't like it as much as her past books. I just want a love story and don't see where vulgar words or weird stuff add to that at all. That actually distracts me.

This is a good addition to the "Landing a Lord" series. It is a fairly short and quick historical romance. This is such an enjoyable romantic read about Abigail and Cranston. This is an emotional read with some angst, secrets and second chances. Their story develops nicely and I love how everything wraps up. I look forward to seeing what her father has set up for her brother.

Separated in their youth due to her father's greed, Cranston grows bitter against love, marriage, the whole shebang. Abigail vows never to suffer another arranged marriage without love to hold it together. But she will do right by her daughter and ensure Gemma has a father's love, even if Abby missed out on that paternal emotion herself. How can she convince the man who still holds her heart that she is true? How can he trust that she won't hurt him again? Great story through Booksprout.

About the author

USA Today bestselling author Suzanna Medeiros was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. Her love for the written word led her to pursue a degree in English Literature from the University of Toronto. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Education degree but graduated at a time when no teaching jobs were available. After working at a number of interesting places, including a federal inquiry, a youth probation office, and the Office of the Fire Marshal of Ontario, she decided to pursue her first love—writing.

Suzanna is married to her own hero and is the proud mother of twin daughters. She is an avowed romantic who enjoys spending her days writing love stories.
