Over de auteur

Johann Rudolf Wyss (Vees) was born in Bern, Switzerland on March 4, 1782 and died in March 1830. His father, Johann David Wyss, wrote the story of Swiss Family Robinson for his family. Johann completed his fatherÕs story and had it published. Many people feel that the book is very similar to Daniel DefoeÕs Robinson Crusoe. The younger Johann was a professor and a librarian. In 1811, he wrote the Swiss National Anthem.
