關於本電子書

The Kristen R. Bromley Guitar Method series is based on Dr. Bromley's extensive experience as a professional guitarist and noted educator. In 20 plus years, Dr. Kristen Bromley has instructed hundreds of university students in beginning, intermediate, and advanced level courses, along with child, adolescent, and adult learners. In this volume, Dr. Bromley helps guitarists learn how to play music on the guitar through reading tablature, a type of written notation specifically for the guitar. The book begins as if a student has no prior knowledge of reading tablature or playing the guitar and proceeds through playing challenging pieces. If you want to learn how to or get better at reading tablature with the guitar, this is the book for you!

This method book includes:

· Online access to nearly 16 hours of in-depth video lessons by Dr. Bromley that specifically go over the materials in this book.

· A progressive study of reading tablature and developing guitar technique, especially for playing melodic lines.

· 200 songs and exercises that gradually progress from easy to very challenging, and which can all be played right along with Dr. Bromley through the video lessons.

· Explanations of tablature, musical notation devices, rhythm, measures, time signatures, and so on.

· Right- and left-hand technique development.

關於作者

Dr. Kristen Bromley is a gifted and sought after instructor, as well as a loved performer and composer. In addition to directing bands and teaching guitar and jazz studies courses at the university level, Dr. Bromley works as a professional arranging, composing, performing, and recording musician. She has a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Music Education from Boston University, a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies, with an additional BA major in Family History and Genealogy, from Brigham Young University.

Dr. Bromley is the author of several guitar method books. She is also featured on a handful of recordings, has toured as a musician across parts of North America and Europe, and has performed or presented at several highly prestigious jazz festivals. As a scholar, Dr. Bromley has conducted important research pertaining to creating more interactive and person-centered educational environments, wherein individuals experience whole-person learning outcomes as they grow through cognitive, emotional, and experiential means, develop greater self-discipline, and become more fully-functioning persons. For more information, see Person-Centered Learning in a Collegiate Jazz Combo by Kristen R. Bromley.

In January 2016, Dr. Bromley suffered a severe break to her left-arm humerus bone, which likewise involved the crushing of her left-arm radial nerve. The nerve was damaged to the point that Kristen completely lost the use of many of the muscles in her left arm and hand. Despite a very grim prognosis, which suggested that in a best case scenario she would regain a very small percentage of the function of her left arm and hand, Dr. Bromley works as a musician and guitarist today. At the time of her injury, Kristen was given a special priesthood blessing wherein God promised her that in time, because of her faith, she would experience a complete recovery. Truly, this miraculous promise has become a reality. After several months of patience and waiting, she slowly began regaining the ability to move her wrist and fingers. Then, weeks later she was able to start gradually developing her ability to play the guitar again. In November of 2018, Dr. Bromley recorded a debut album called Simply Miraculous (released June 2019), as a celebration of her miraculous return to professional guitar playing, and she has continued to record and release additional albums since.

Dr. Bromley loves life, is deeply religious, and truly believes in the awesome power music has to enlighten and invigorate the soul. She has devoted her career to enriching, uplifting, edifying, and inspiring lives through the education, performance, composition, recording, and publishing of music.
