Acerca de este libro electrónico

Claiming to be official documents written in the days of Christ-taken from manuscripts in Constantinople as well as records of the senatorial docket in the Vatican-these controversial writings, first published in 1887, offer a riveting look at the people and events surrounding Jesus' life. Included is the "Acta Pilata," Pilate's report to Caesar detailing the apprehension, trial, and crucifixion of Jesus Christ; an interview with Mary and Joseph; and a report concerning Christ's resurrection. Discredited by some, embraced by others, this much-discussed book remains fascinating reading for historians and bible scholars alike. American clergyman WILLIAM DENNES MAHAN (1824-1906) also wrote Caesar's Court and Hebrew History of Baptism.

Acerca del autor

William Dennes Mahan was a Cumberland Presbyterian minister during the second half of the 19th century. Mahan published "The Report of Pilate," a supposed transcript of the trial of Jesus Christ. Although the book was full of inaccuracies, it was still reprinted as recently as 1997 under a version named "Acts of Pilate." Mahan was found guilty of falsehood and plagiarism after he wrote "Eli's Story of the Magi," which contained entire plagiarized pages of the famous novel, "Ben-Hur."
