Lakshmi is also the author of two cookbooks, Easy Exotic and Tangy, Tart, Hot & Sweet, and the New York Times bestselling memoir Love, Loss, and What We Ate, and The Encyclopedia of Spices & Herbs. She lives in New York City with her daughter.
