In the last fifty years Irish poets have produced some of the most exciting poetry in contemporary literature, writing about love and sexuality, violence and history, country and city. Matthew Campbell is Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield. He is the author of Rhythm and Will in Victorian Poetry (Cambridge University Press, 1999) and of numerous articles on Victorian poetry, Irish poetry and contemporary poetry.
