About this eBook

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is a wholly original story of rage and revenge, of guilt and horror, and of love and loathing from bestselling and acclaimed author Holly Black.
Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown's gates, you can never leave.
One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself.
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is a wholly original story of rage and revenge, of guilt and horror, and of love and loathing from bestselling and acclaimed author Holly Black.

Her sentence structure was also sometimes hard to follow, and I often found myself re-reading a setence to make sense of it. The way she portrayed her main protagonist did not really "sit right" with the personality she established for her; this was also true for few of the other characters. Nevertheless, I found her plot unique and engaging. The loose ends and the strangeness of her character dynamics (as well as her often confusing sentences) is why I give it a 4/5.

It was a pretty good book overall. However, the main character was weak sometimes and often relied on other characters to help her. The "evil" vampires were actually very well made and you were just shocked at some parts in the book because of how brutal they were. This is not a book for people expecting Twilight sappy vampire romance which I greatly appreciated. After all, Tana does wake up next to a pile of corpses in the first chapter! I do recommend reading this book if you enjoy dark and violent vampire stories with a bit of romance.

First of all, I bought the book as a joke because of its name. Second, it was actually an okay book. The sentence structure was incoherent at times and words were spelt wrong, but otherwise okay. The story also had alot of plot holes and tried to do too many twist, but the characters were interesting and diverse.
