Mede is one of a kind, in every conceivable way, that doesn't mean every man she encounters should propose marriage. She isn't looking to be just another wife... she wants to be somebody, now she's got to figure out who and what that somebody will be. Prince Llyr, future king, skilled warrior, and eligible bachelor, wants to meet Mede... not because she's the lone female of their kind, but because of who she is as a person, but can he convince this amazing woman, he sees her.

Mede and Lylr's story is one of the most enjoyable in this series, she's a lone female dragon shifter who has no wish to mate just because she's the only female, she wants to find a male who really loves her. After a fight with her mother, she cursed her magic by breaking her crystal saying she would never marry. Llyr is in line to be King and knew almost immediately that Mede was perfect for him but he recognised that she needed space to be able to grow into her own person and gave her room to do just that. I liked how the characters clicked and grew closer and I liked when she wanted to protect him.

Mede is the only female dragon shifter on Draig and wants to be viewed as an equal. To show her opposition to marriage, she smashed her crystal to control her own life. Llyr, the future Draig king, loves Mede & conceals she’s his mate until they know one another on a deeper level. Plenty of challenges and threats throughout the story with the right amount of hot & steamy action. I wish I’d read this one first- it's the ninth book yet it's the prequel & there are things that would’ve felt clearer
