The author was Spirit-filled thirty years after becoming a Christian. The Holy Spirit led him as a missionary to the Philippines, where the Lord established many churches through his mission. These churches are still prospering today, twenty years after the authors retirement.

Johannes became a member of the Dutch Resistance and was born again during that time. He became a Methodist missionary after immigrating to the United States.
