The author tries to give answers to common problems and proper Christian living. For proper discernment, you need to be Spirit-filled according to Gods Word, obeying Gods commandments, and not only reading Gods Word but doing it. The author was Spirit-filled thirty years after becoming a Christian. The Holy Spirit led him as a missionary to the Philippines, where the Lord established many churches through his mission. These churches are still prospering today, twenty years after the authors retirement.

Johannes Weiss was born in the Netherlands and was a teenager during the five years of German occupation. His family hid Jewish families like Corrie Ten Boom. Johannes became a member of the Dutch Resistance and was born again during that time. He became a Methodist missionary after immigrating to the United States.
