I'm a bit disappointed. This book was not as good as the other books within this series. The ending felt very rushed and thrown together. The author acknowledges that he lost his enthusiasm for this series, hence the poor quality. Regardless, I appreciate him closing the loops as best he could given the circumstances. I think there's an opportunity to view the story from the new bad guys perspective. it would be nice to flesh them out a little bit more.

5 for effort. You struggled to bring this series to termination due to personal issues. Thank you for books 1 to 3 though. I would have liked to continue reading but needs must. As ex-military I am used to 'No plan survives first contact with the enemy'. In this case your own mental exhaustion. Thank you for keeping me entertained. Best wishes to you and yours.

Would give it less if I could. Writer gives up on series, and just ends it withouttying up everything neatly. If I had the money, I'd buy the publisher where he's at, and make sure he's never published again. Had an excellent 1st 3 books. loved where it was going. Will not waste any more money on this author.

About the author

Robert M. Kerns (or Rob if you ever meet him in person) is a geek, and he claims that label proudly. Most of his geekiness revolves around Information Technology (IT), having over fifteen years in the industry; within IT, he especially prefers Servers and Networks, and he often makes the claim that his residence has a better data infrastructure than some businesses.

Beyond IT, Rob enjoys Science Fiction and Fantasy of (almost) all stripes. He is a voracious reader, with his favorite books too numerous to list.

Rob has been writing for over 20 years, and Awakening is his debut novel.
