Hes preoccupied with thoughts of a fellow officerwho was murdered his rookie year during a routine marine patrol. With the help of a few selected comradesmen he trusts through and throughhe formulates a plan to track down the men responsible for the officers death. Still on thin ice with the law enforcement administration, Sam finds time between river rescues to formulate a plan and seek out the people responsible for a fellow wardens untimely demise.

Dan Hayden is a former Fish and Wildlife Officer assigned to the rivers and forests of a small, rural town in northern Connecticut. Now retired, he remains an avid outdoorsman, fishing, hiking, and kayaking when time allows. He lives in a small town in southern Massachusetts and has three grown sons and four grandchildren.
