Truitt and Annie’s story in The Rancher Risks It All by Debra Holt, book two in The Tremaynes of Texas series, was asweet, enjoyable, emotional, and heartwarming tale. Truitt Tremayne keeps to himself, especially after the accident in which he lost his parents, youngest brother, and fiancé; hiding behind his scar, both physically and emotionally. Having already loved and lost, he is unsure, possibly afraid, of ever opening his heart to another, again. That is until he rescues a woman and a child stuck in the middle of a Texan rainstorm. Annie Simms and her young sister Jessie are on the run from family wanting to take control of Jessie and ruin Annie, when their car dies in a storm in a very dangerous area, with a very ill Annie behind the wheel. Trying to keep her sister safe, Annie left her life in Nevada, changes their names, and seeking a large city where they can hide among the crowd; but instead end up on the Tremayne ranch. Keeping their identity secret is not easy, but the warmth of the Tremayne family goes far in the healing of these two. As Annie healing begins, we watch both her and Truitt fight their feelings, but Truitt is determined to prove to Annie she belongs there with him. As danger approaches, Truitt will stop at nothing to protect Annie and her sister. Annie never expected that the man who rescues them will change her life, and his forever; but will he still care for her after learning about her secrets? Ms. Holt wrote a sweet, heartwarming, yet heartbreaking and at times suspenseful romance filled with strong magnetism, sizzling chemistry, wonderful dialogue, and charming characters giving Truitt and Annie a chance to open their hearts to love. I loved the involvement of Truitt’s aunt and Annie’s sister Jessie in this story. I highly recommend The Rancher Risks It All to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Debra Holt’s second book, The Rancher Risks It All, in The Tremaynes of Texas series was rife with emotion that hit deep. From its onset Truitt and Amy’s story captured my heart…with the perfect mixture of angst and an intriguing backstory (both Truitt’s and Amy’s)l their relationship’s growth touched all the high points of the perfect romance…which left a lasting impression. Truitt’s vulnerabilities and Amy’s determination made for the perfect storm of a romance, and though the path to a HEA had its twists and turns, it made their story that much more interesting, and completely tugged on the heartstrings. This is one couple that won’t be forgotten now that their story has been finished. This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

The author delivers another wonderful story in this series about four siblings in Texas. Truitt Tremayne is the sibling that has stayed home to run the very expansive ranch. He keeps to himself. Years ago he suffered an unbearable loss that has marked his life since then. His scar is not only physical but also emotionally. That is until he rescues a woman and a child stuck in the middle of a Texan rainstorm. Annie Simms and her young sister Jessie are running away from someone that wishes Annie harm and wants to “possess” Jessie. In an effort to keep her sister safe, she leaves her life in Nevada. When her car breaks down in Texas she never expected that the man who rescues them will change her life and his forever. Keeping secrets of their identity is not easy, but the warmth of the Tremayne family heals the ladies. But what happens when the heart gets involved? What happens when the enemy is close by ? What happens when the secrets are revealed? This clean, at times suspenseful romance was another touching story in the series. At times heartbreaking and at others heartwarming, it will keep you engaged from the beginning to the end. Can’t wait to read the next story in the series. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
