Allison was certain that her fishing trip with Papa would be a day of fun and relaxation. Little did she know that her excitement would place her in the midst of a storm. Allison has no choice but to put her faith and trust into her loving grandfather. As Papa comforts her, he guides the wayward vessel through the storm. Allison finds that perfect peace rests in the one she loves. Allison discovers that like Papa, Jesus provides safety and security for those who put their faith and trust in Him.

Acerca del autor

For the past seventeen years, Joel Blomenkamp has served as inner-city teacher in South Central Los Angeles and Stockton, California. He has earned a BA in social science and an MA in educational leadership from Biola University, as well as an Ed.D. in instructional leadership from Argosy University.

In 2009, Joel’s father-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer. As a result, Joel’s children began to ask the difficult question, “Why would God allow something so bad happen to someone we love?” Prompted by the difficulty of answering their question, he began to write a story that would explain to them why we must go through the “storms” of life and the necessity of holding on to a loving, caring, and compassionate God.

Joel enjoys spending time with his wife, Colleen, and three children, Derek, Micah, and Allison.
