About this eBook

The Viscount Ashford has no immediate plans to wed. But with a mother determined to see him settled by the end of the Season, he must do what he can to salvage his freedom. Which leaves him with one choice—convince Miss Mary Trenton to accept his pretend suit. The woman he’s come to think of as a friend is impervious to his charms, and that makes her the perfect choice for this pretend courtship.

Mary has no illusions that Ashford would look twice at her under normal circumstances. Agreeing to help him will allow her to experience what it is like to have a man pursue her. But somewhere along the way, while enjoying the gossip they’re stirring, the line between fiction and reality becomes blurred.

Is it possible the attraction she’s feeling for Ashford might be reciprocated?

THE UNWILLING VISCOUNT is a Regency Historical Romance. It contains the themes of friends to lovers, pretend courtship, masquerades, spinster heroine.

this book started off well but it feels as if there is a chapter missing. I also don't understand how woman give into their lust before getting married and before the person declares their love. Its a little frustrating and I hope the next book in this series doesn't follow the same pattern as this book or the previous two books. It takes the romance and fairytale out of the story

Viscount Ashford is on the defence when his mother declares war to find him a wife. The only lady he thinks of to save him, is the lady who saved him before, Miss Mary Trenton. All Mary wants is to live on her own away from her demeaning sister. Ashford promises his help if she will go along with a fake courtship. The more time they spend together, the more they want each other, especially after that first kiss. Mederios doesn't waste any time getting these two together with just a few bumps in the road. Steamy easy paced read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love this author's style! The hero and heroine are a delight, both at odds with their families, him because his mother desperately wanted him to marry that season and her because she lived at the (dis)pleasure and whims of her vindictive, nearly evil sister. She’d saved the hero from rather unpleasant attention at a ball prior to the book’s start. Their friendship renews when they meet again, and they embark on a fake courtship to save him again. Of course, true love develops, & they live HEA!
