About the author

Born on April 2, 1969, Traian Vasilcau (Traianus) is the author of 78 books of many literary genres (lyrical, patriotic, religious poetry, essays, librettos, pamphlets, maxims, reflections, translations of classical Russian poetry, journalism, verses for children, classical and modern sonnets, ballads, romances, elegiac folksong, elegies, meditations, roundels, prayers, Christmas carols in folk and modern style, psalms, ghazals, distichs, monostichs, folk and modern songs, laments, pastel poems and much more), published in the Republic of Moldova (60), Romania (14) and Canada (4). He is a member of the Writers’ Union of Moldova USM and the Writers’ Union of Romania USR. He edited 11 collective volumes of poetry, aphorisms, and spiritual literature.


Holder of the Honorary Title and Medal “Master of Arts of the Republic of Mol­do­va for special achievements in creative ac­tivity, important contribution to the affir­­mation of national spiritual values and high artistic mastery. Winner of the Na­tional Prize for Art and Culture and the National Prize Medal, awarded by the Go­vernment of the Republic of Moldova, for the Psalmodic Trilogy “Redis­co­vered in Heaven” (2000-2008), for trans­la­­tion and promotion of national literature abroad (in 2016: 17 volumes translated into 18 lan­guages by 60 specialists from 17 coun­tries) and for the organization of cultural events to support young artistic talents “Shores of Prut”, in memoriam Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodo­ro­vici and “The Star of Kishinev – The Star of Moldova”. He has in his prize list several awards, medals and ho­no­rary titles, awarded by public organi­zations and institutions.

To date, 28 volumes were translated into 20 languages and published in the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Canada. He publish­ed in a myriad of newspapers and magazines and is included in numerous literary antholo­gies, dictionaries, almanacs published in the Re­public of Moldova, Romania, Canada, the United States, and other countries. In the pe­riod 2012-2017, he edited 5,400 pages of “Not Silent Works” in 9 volumes, with the unique title “Inscriptions on Eternity”, gather­ing all his creation at that time. The last vo­lume has 825 pages of appreciations, book reviews, por­traits and poems dedicated to the author by more than 500 well-known perso­na­lities from all over the world. Traian Vasilcau initiated and edited, together with the aca­demician Mihai Cimpoi, the Encyclopedia of Contemporary Romanian Writers from All over the World (1.200 pages, 1.146 authors) and the Antho­logy of Romanian Poetry of the Third Millen­nium (to be printed).


Cornéliu Tocan is a Canadian-Quebecer writer, poet, author, literary translator and illustrator, member of six professional unions and associations (Quebec Union of Writers UNEQ, Quebec Writers’ Federation QWF, The Writers’ Union of Canada TWUC, Immigrant Writers Association IWA/AÉI, Quebec Romanian Writers' Asso­ci­ation ASLRQ, North America Romanian Writers’ Association ASRAN), who creates and translates by using four lan­guages: French, English, Spanish and Romanian.


His literary translations include the creations of the American poet Emily Dickinson, the poets of the Canadian Confederation, poets of the Great War, the Romanian poets George Topar­ceanu, Ienachita Vacarescu, George Cosbuc, and Aurora Ciuca, the Moldavian poet Traian Vasil­cau and the Quebecer poet Émile Nelligan.

Mihai Cimpoi, critic and literary historian, eminescologue and essayist (ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mihai_Cimpoi), honorary member of Romanian Academy, member of Academy of Sciences of Moldova, member of  Writers' Union of Romania USR, member and former president of Writers' Union of Moldova USM (uniuneascriitorilor.md/membru/cimpoi-mihai) and member of  PEN International.
