Conformal mapping methods are applied to the calculation of the effect of channel (two-dimensional tunnel) walls on the idea flow past arbitrary airfoils situated anywhere within the channel. The walls of the channel need not be plane but may have any shape. The results are compared in specific cases with those obtained by two approximate methods: the first of which is a first-order treatment using image vortices and doublets, and the second is a higher-order correction developed by Goldstein.
