This manuscript is a collection of the tunes featured on Maggie Sansone's "Wind Drift" recording. The pieces, Celtic in style, were written for the 14/15 hammered dulcimer (the larger dulcimer with more chromatic notes) but can be played on the smaller 12/11 instrument as well. Chords are provided to identify harmonic structure, provide a guide for an accompanying instrument, and as encouragement for the reader to create his or her own variations. This book, in tandem with the aforementioned recording, will enhance the musician's understanding of the tunes and their spirit, offer insight into Maggie Sansone's playing and arranging style, and inspire new musical ideas.

Maggie Sansone is one of America's premier hammered dulcimer players. Sansone's pioneering artistry has fused ancient sounds with modern sensibility and brought the resonant beauty of the hammered dulcimer to thousands of music lovers around the world. Especially exciting and inspiring is her innovative integration of old and new instruments. Sansone has been featured on CBS-TV's Sunday Morning, and NPR's All Things Considered, Performance Today and The Thistle & Shamrock. She has received numerous awards and nominations including the ANNIE award for Performing Arts (Anne Arundel County Cultural Arts Foundation, Maryland) and WAMMIE awards for Celtic/Irish Instrumentalist and Record Label (Washington Area Music Association, Washington D.C.) Active as a concert producer and performer of traditional Celtic and seasonal music, Sansone tours throughout the United States performing in a variety of venues from Celtic festivals to the Kennedy Center concert stages.
