Rush hour on the underground and a killer is at large in London, striking apparently haphazardly in a series of vicious attacks. When the July 7 bombs go off and public awareness is raised, Brewster and Burgess have a race against time to apprehend the stalker. But danger comes not just from knives and bombs. Murder is deadlier when the heart is involved.

Carol Smith worked in the book world in many different jobs before setting up her own literary agency which specialised in finding and nurturing new talent. After having her first three novels published, she took the plunge and quit the day job. She lives in Chiswick with a pair of opinionated Burmese cats, Amadeus and Orlando.
